Our Rudy Project line caters to athletes who are into Baseball, Skiing, Tennis, Golfing and ever Motorcyclist. Our Rec-Specs collection is for those patients, youth to adult, who are into more active sports such as football, soccer, and basketball.

Polarized Lenses provide comfort, safety, and better vision for those sunglasses wearers that want great sunglass protection. Many surfaces can create glare in sunlight, especially water, snow, windows and vehicles. Polarized Lenses eases the glare and allow you to be in the sun without squinting while reducing eye strain and tension. Transitions Lenses automatically adjust to changing light, becoming as dark as sunglasses when necessary. Transitions are available in many different type of materials, lens designs, and colors. They help protect children's' eyes as well. In fact, 80% of lifetime sun exposure occurs before age 18, so the sooner you reduce the risks, the better. Transitions lenses protect your eyes by blocking 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Anti-Reflective Lenses virtually eliminates reflections from headlights, tailgates, and other light sources. They also help prevent disorienting glare and allow drivers to make faster adjustments to changing conditions. These specialty lenses also prevent the reflections that cause eyestrain and fatigue and helps creates clear vision by helping light enter your eyes. We utilized the most advance Anti-Reflective Coated lenses here at Estrella Eyecare that are have greater smudge resistance and have an unbeatable two-sided scratch resistance.

Ultraviolet Protection is essential living in the valley of the sun. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation consists of invisible rays from the sun and Arizona has a high exposure to those rays. Those harmful rays have been found to contribute to the progression of cataracts, pingueculae or pterygia, and even macular degeneration. Ultraviolet rays can be blocked from entering the eyes by many different coatings and materials. We recommend your glasses have this to protect your eyes from those harmful UV Rays.

Polycarbonate Lenses are the safest lenses in the optical industry. The polycarbonate material was developed by the aerospace industry for use in helmet visors worn by Apollo astronauts. Polycarbonate can also be found in bulletproof windows, airplane windows and riot police shields. The material is 10 times more impact resistant than other plastics, and exceds the FDA's resistance requirements by over 40 times. We highly recommend these type of lenses for children, athletes and anybody who is active. Polycarbonate is also available in thinner Aspheric designs to create a more cosmetic appealing lens.

High Index Lenses are advance lenses the can create a thinner lenses for those with stronger corrections. Theses lenses come in a variety of different indexes and we can provide you with the thinnest one in the optical industry to create a cosmetically thin and appealing lens. Lenses made of high-index plastic are lighter than the same lenses made in conventional plastic, so they're more comfortable to wear. When theses lenses are combined with anti-reflective lenses, they can create a sophisticated piece of eyewear.

Aspheric Lenses has become a more popular lens designs in the optical field available in both Polycarbonate and Hi-index Lenses. In plus (farsighted) lenses, the front surface gradually flattens toward the edge of the lens. In minus (nearsighted) lenses, the surface gradually steepens toward the lens edge. This gradually changing surface provides a number of important benefits, most important of which is that vision through an aspheric lens is usually superior to vision through a conventional lens. Another benefit of aspheric lenses is much like that provided by hi-index lenses. In a completely different manner than high index, aspheric lenses also end up thinner than conventional lenses, even when made in conventional plastic. Strong farsighted lenses have a tendency to enlarge the wearer's eyes, producing an unattractive magnified look. Strong nearsighted lenses do just the opposite: they minify the wearer's eyes so they tend to look small and beady. Positioning a strong correction closer to the eyes lessens this magnification or minification, for a more attractive, natural look.

Progressives Addition Lenses (PALS) allow you to see clearly in all fields of vision: far away, mid-range, and up close with no hard division in the lens (as in bifocals) for those patients suffering from presbyopia. The latest design in progressives utilizes Wave Front technology along with Premium Anti-Reflective coatings. For our patients, we use these advance progressive lens designs to ensure that our patients have unsurpassed sharpness and comfort in all their fields of vision.
